Welcome to our home...

Updated: Feb 20, 2023

Welcome to our beautiful barn wedding venue at Homestead Park in Nar Nar Goon, nestled amongst our picturesque farm and friendly horses. We are thrilled to share our story and showcase the unique features that make our venue the perfect location for a rustic and elegant wedding.

We met through a mutual friend, and started dating, it didn't take long for us to realise that we had found something truly amazing. In December 2016, Seamus planned a romantic evening at Vue de Monde, one of Melbourne's luxurious restaurants, and proposed to Kaye.

As we started planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted to get married in a location that was meaningful to both of us. We thought about many options, but in the end, we decided that the perfect location was the family farm where our beloved beagle, Jessie could also be a part of our celebration.

Seamus had spent many years on the farm throughout his youth, and it held a special place in his heart and by chance, he had the opportunity to buy it back from its then owners, in the early 2020s. We knew that getting married there would be a truly magical experience, and we could not wait to share our special day with our loved ones in such a beautiful and meaningful location.

We spent 9 months preparing the farm for our wedding on December 9th 2017, transforming it into a stunning and rustic wedding venue. We wanted to create an unforgettable experience for our guests, and we worked tirelessly to make sure that everything was perfect. Our guests were blown away by the setting, and we were so grateful to be able to share such a special day with them.

After our wedding, friends and family encouraged us to do something with the barn and in early 2020, we decided to open our doors and share our location with others. In 2021, we decided to continue making improvements to the barn, spending countless hours during winter renovating the existing structure to double the event space. We worked hard to preserve the rustic charm of the barn, while also adding modern amenities that make weddings more comfortable for our guests. The result is a beautiful and functional space that can be customised to suit any wedding style.

One of the most unique features of our venue is our friendly horses. Our horses are a part of our family, and we love having them around for weddings. They add an extra element of beauty and charm to our venue, and they’re always a hit with our guests. Our horses are well-trained and love meeting new people, so don’t be surprised if they come up to say hello during your wedding!

At The Barn, we believe that every wedding should be a unique and personalised experience. We want our couples to feel like they’re getting married in their own special place, surrounded by the beauty of the countryside.

If you are looking for delicious food, there are plenty of options in the local area. We recommend starting your day with breakfast at Little Miss Hangrys, a charming café in the nearby town of Garfield. They offer a fantastic range of breakfast or brunch dishes and make a great coffee too!

For lunch, we recommend visiting Cannibal Creek Winery, just a short drive from our venue. They offer a modern-Australian style menu which is complimented by their French style wines.

If you're interested in pottery, a visit to the Robert Gordon Pottery in nearby Pakenham is a must! The Robert Gordon family have been designing and making pottery since 1945. If you have children, they can paint their own pottery while you can purchase a souvenir or enjoy a bite to eat with a coffee at their café.

We’re so proud to be a part of so many beautiful wedding memories. Our barn has witnessed countless love stories, and we’re honoured to have played a part in each and every one of them. If you’re looking for a unique and beautiful wedding venue, we hope you’ll consider our barn and farm. We’d love to share our little piece of paradise with you on your special day!

Love Seamus & Kaye x
